This project involved the renovation of an existing fibro beach shack into a new 2 storey beach residence.

The existing house sits across the road from a beautiful beach, however the owners didn’t have any views and also tended to sit outside to access the best breezes.

We designed a new first floor extension which wrapped over the existing house without impacting it’s structural integrity and designed a new upper level living area and large east and north decks to capture the views and breezes and to embrace tropical outdoor living.

This project was nearing completion when the eye of Cyclone Debbie, a category 4 cyclone, hit the coast of Hydeaway Bay in March 2017. The project had no damage and survived the storm completely intact.
