These clients loved their inner Brisbane house location but had an old house at the front of their property that wasn’t in any condition to be salvaged.

It was decided to create a new 2 storey extension to the front of the house to compliment the existing rear 2 storey house that had been partly renovated.

A large rammed earth wall became a key feature of the design concept with this wall starting at the house entry extending up 6m in height to create a double height entry. The wall then extents 9m through the house, curves and turns 90 degrees to become part of the downstairs living and upstairs family room.

The rammed earth wall was built by renown artisan John Oliver who has been building these beautiful walls across Australia for the last 30 years.
